employment application procedures
Thank you for your interest in employment in the Diocese of Arlington’s Catholic Schools. We appreciate your concern for the Church’s educational mission and assure you of our interest in you and the contribution you can make to Catholic education.
For your convenience this cover sheet is attached to the application to inform you of relevant Diocesan policies and to provide you with a checklist to assist you in the application process. Kindly follow the instructions listed below and forward all documents to:

| ____ 1. | Include a cover letter stating why you would like to work for a Catholic school in the Diocese of Arlington. | Teachers

| ____ 2. | Include an updated résumé or curriculum vitae. | |
| ____ 3. | Complete the attached application. | |
| ____ 4. | Request official transcripts be sent from your college to the Office of Catholic Schools. | |
| ____ 5. | Send a copy of your current teaching license. (Virginia or out of state) | |
| ____ 6. | Request a reference from your pastor/minister on the attached form. | |
| ____ 7. | Request two professional references (one from your most recent employer or from a supervising professor) using the attached forms. | |
| ____ 8. | Include a signed copy of the Witness Statement. |
When all of the above materials have been received by the Office of Catholic Schools, your name will be added to the list of candidates that is distributed to all Catholic schools in the Diocese.
While salaries can vary from school to school, we are including the salary range for both elementary and secondary teachers for the 2010-11 academic year:
Salary Range for Elementary Teachers
$30,288 to $37,474
or a beginning teacher (2010-11)
Salary Range for Secondary Teachers
$33,212 to $42,539
or a beginning teacher (2010-11)
Finally, while the Office of Catholic Schools can in no way guarantee you a position, openings do occur regularly. If you are hired by one of the schools of the Diocese, you will be required to attend an orientation session which is held in mid-August. This session offers faculty members who are new to the Diocese an opportunity to learn about our mission as Catholic educators and to become familiar with personnel policies and benefit programs available to school employees. Your principal will inform you of the date, time and location.
