Music Teacher Recognized
Mr. John Barger, music teacher at St. Rita School, was named the Outstanding Music Teacher of the Year by the Opera Guild of Northern Virginia. Mr. Barger will be officially recognized at an awards ceremony in the fall

PVI Options Director Awarded
Ms. Chris Desmarais, Director of Paul VI Catholic High School's Options Program, was named a recipient of Exceptional Parent Magazine's Maxwell J. Schleifer Distinguished Service Award. This award recognizes Ms. Desmarais' work on behalf of those with special needs or disabilities. Only 75 people nationally receive this honor. Congratulations, Ms. Desmarais!
2009 Science Fair Winners
The 2009 Diocesan Science was held Saturday, April 25th. To see a list of winners, click here. First, second, and third winners received a savings bond.
New Superintendent and New Principal Named
Sister Bernadette McManigal, B.V.M. was recently named as the permanent superintendent of schools for the Diocese of Arlington after having served seven months as the interim superintendent.
Similarly, Mr. Tim Hamer was also named the new permanent principal of Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria. He had previously served in the capacity of interim principal following the departure of the Oblates last summer.
