A primary objective of this campaign has been to strengthen parishes financially - in unison with the diocesan effort. Each parish was asked to raise funds for their own identified, specific needs. These financial needs include building expansion, repairs, renovations, debt reduction, establishment of endowment funds, or building a base of funding for parish ministries.
It was anticipated that a minimum of $15 million of the funds raised in this campaign would be returned to the parishes. Parishes with major capital building requirements or improvement campaigns (for expanded, renovated or new facilities) were able to request the opportunity to structure their campaign to realize a larger portion of funds in that parish, after meeting their obligation to the diocesan campaign.
Pledged funds dedicated to parish needs exceeded $40 million. Based on payments received as of December 1, 2006, over $27 million has been returned to parishes for their needs.
