The Office of Development assists parishes and the diocese in programs that encourage and teach parishioners about their responsibility to support the Church. Assistance may be offered to help families understand the need for greater sacrifice to help the parish with capital needs or the responsibility for ongoing support of the offertory for a parish.
Specific Programs include:
The Bishop’s Lenten Appeal (BLA)
Supporting the Annual Operations of the Diocese
The Bishop’s Lenten Appeal teaches parishioners about the programs, offices and ministries of the Diocese of Arlington. These works of the diocese allow the mission of our Church to be carried out within our diocese. In supporting the BLA, a person is providing meaningful financial support that strengthens various programs and ministries within our diocesan church.

Building and Endowing the Church of Arlington
The Catholic Diocese of Arlington is one of the fastest growing dioceses in the United States. This campaign was developed to meet the capital needs of the diocese and to help parishes address local needs they face. Each parishioner has been invited to consider a pledge of support that will strengthen our diocese and allow our diocese and parishes to better fulfill our mission.
