May 16th: 7th Annual BASH
Over 500 junior high students from the Arlington Diocese will gather at Pope John Paul the Great Catholic High School, Dumfries, for the 7th Annual BASH. Consistently drawing hundreds of enthusiastic young teens from all over Northern Virginia, this day- long event will provide dynamic speakers and fun activities. This year, ventriloquist comedian Taylor Mason will entertain the students and keynote speaker Chris Stefanick will discuss this year’s youth ministry theme, “Get Your Faith On.” A Vigil Mass celebrated by Father Matthew Zuberbueler will be the pinnacle of this exciting day. Last year, over 100 girls attended the retreats and celebrated their Quinceañera Mass at their local parish. For more information, please visit here.
May 30th: Respect Life Mass
Bishop Paul S. Loverde and Diocese of Arlington parishioners will celebrate the monthly Respect Life Mass at Saint Michael, Annandale, followed by a recitation of the Rosary in front of a local abortion clinic. Bishop Loverde will lead others to live the Gospel of Life and to be “witnesses to the truth that all life is sacred from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death.” Bishop Loverde has celebrated monthly Respect Life Masses for the past nine years, recognizing that it is our responsibility and privilege to defend and pray for young lives.
