September 19^th: 6^th Annual Peace and Justice Conference:
"The Living Church: Engaging Parishes in Promoting Human Dignity"

"The Living Church: Engaging Parishes in Promoting Human Dignity," is the theme of the 6^th annual Peace and Justice Commission conference. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn how to promote the understanding of social justice issues in their local parishes. Bishop Paul S. Loverde will celebrate the opening Mass at Saint Anthony, Falls Church, and give introductory remarks at the conference. A keynote address on The Living Vision: A Perspective on the Parish Social Mission, will be presented by Father Larry Snyder, President of Catholic Charities USA. For more information, visit here.

September 26^th: Misa de Sanación

Approximately 800 parishioners plan to attend the Misa de Sanación, or Healing Mass, at Saint Charles Borromeo, Arlington. The Healing Masses, co-sponsored by Renovación Católica Carismática and the Spanish Apostolate, began 19 years ago at the Cathedral of Saint Thomas More, Arlington. The Mass, celebrated by Father Jose E. Hoyos, will be followed by testimonies and time for individual prayer for those in need of healing. For more information, visit here.  

September 21 -30^th: Pilgrimage to France

Bishop Paul S. Loverde will lead nearly 50 pilgrims on a 10-day pilgrimage to France sponsored by the Catholic Distance University. Pilgrims will visit the tomb of Saint John Vianney in Ars, the Visitation Chapel in Paray-le-Monial, the Shrine of Our Lady of Pontmain, the abbey at Mont Saint Michel, the Great Basilica and home of Saint Therese of Lisieux and the places in Lourdes where Mary appeared to Saint Bernadette. During their stay in Paris, the pilgrims will explore the chapel of Rue de Bac where Mary appeared to Saint Catherine Laboure, the Church that contains the body of Saint Vincent de Paul, the famous cathedrals of Notre Dame and Sacre Coeur, and other sites.  For more information, visit here.
