Financial Gifts or Grants
The Office of Vocations welcomes the generous financial support given by various benefactor groups to our seminarians and will happily provide the names and addresses of our current seminarians to facilitate this support. The following diocesan policy was developed to ensure a just and equitable distribution of these gifts or grants.
Diocesan Seminarian-Benefactor Policy
SEMINIARIAN'S RESPONSIBILITY:When a seminarian receives a financial gift or grant from a Knights of Columbus Council or a parish, diocesan or Church related group he is to report in writing (an e-mail is sufficient) to the Director of the Office of Vocations the following within (2) weeks of receipt of the gift or grant: - The name of the benefactor. - The amount of the financial gift or grant. - Verification that a note or letter of acknowledgement and thanks has been mailed to the benefactor. BENEFACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY:To assist the Office of Vocations, all Knights of Columbus Councils or other parish, diocesan or Church related groups are asked to notify the Director of the Office of Vocations either by fax, e-mail or regular mail within (2) weeks after a financial gift or grant has been forwarded to a seminarian. Accompanying this notification, the benefactor is also asked to include the name of the seminarian and the amount of the gift or grant. NOTE: This notification is to be provided to the Office of Vocations even if the office previously provided the benefactor with the name and address of a seminarian recipient. This notification thus confirms that the seminarian was indeed forwarded the gift or grant and the general time frame in which he received it. |
