- For Catholics or non-Catholics residing in the Diocese of Arlington, the first step is to request an appointment with his/her local parish priest. We, unfortunately, are unable to assist individuals who reside outside of the Diocese of Arlington. Please contact your local Catholic priest or your local Catholic diocesan chancery for assistance.
- During the appointment, the priest will listen to the person’s history and provide pastoral guidance.
- After initial discernment, if the priest or local pastor considers it appropriate, the individual is referred to the exorcism team of the Diocese. The individual will be asked to complete requisite forms as part of the screening process.
- The exorcism team will assess the situation and determine appropriate next steps.
- Confidentiality is assured throughout the process.
- Parents seeking help for a son or daughter under the age of eighteen should start by making an appointment for their child with their local parish priest. The above procedure will be similar. At least one parent must be present during each appointment.
- While parents may desire this kind of spiritual assistance for their children who are older than 18, it is important that as adults, these individuals take the initiative to seek care on their own. The process will be identical to the protocol outlined above.
- For additional guidance or questions related to the Diocesan Protocol, please contact us here.
- Those seeking the blessing or exorcism of their home or business should contact their local parish priest and follow the outline provided above.
- If the priest or pastor determines that the home must be exorcised, the pastor will contact the Diocese of Arlington Exorcism Team for further guidance.
- Contact your parish priest.
- Download one particularly helpful app: The Saint Michael Center app entitled “Exorcism.” which is available for Apple and Android devices.
- Please note: Before you pray, seek guidance from your pastor on which prayers to pray. Individuals should pray only those prayers that correspond to their state in life (Laity, Clergy, Religious etc.)
